Urban Air Adventure eyes 50 new centers by 2022

The indoor adventure park franchisor has signed 25 deals since May and is aiming for 50 by year-end

The indoor adventure park franchisor has signed 25 deals since May and is aiming for 50 by year-end.

Urban Air Adventure Park, a member of the recently formed Unleashed Brands family group, has announced the signing of a record 25 franchisee agreements in the past four months. The brand signed 10 deals in August alone and 44 in total since the start of 2021. As a result, Urban Air Adventure Park plans to reach 50 deals by 2022.

The agreements will bring new Urban Air Adventure Parks to Cleveland, Ohio; Durham, North Carolina; Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Wilmington, North Carolina; Mesa, Arizona; Woodbridge, Virginia; Huntsville, Alabama; Panama City, Florida; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Plainfield, Indiana; Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Sunset Hills, Missouri; Brandon, Florida; Douglasville, Georgia; Pembroke Pines, Florida; Homestead, Florida; El Paso, Texas; Orlando, Florida; Hamilton, New Jersey; White Plains, New York; Delray Beach, Florida; Westmont, Illinois; and Richmond, Virginia.

The brand will debut in the state of Virginia. Two locations will be built in Short Pump and Midlothian, with one location in Woodbridge.

“It was a special summer at Urban Air for many reasons, but maintaining our momentum with franchise agreements and continuing to expand our reach is certainly near the top. We’re growing in ways that exceed our expectations and there’s a lot for this team to be proud and excited about,” said Josh Wall, chief growth officer of Unleashed Brands.

“The demand for peer-to-peer interaction and physical activity for kids will always be there, and Urban Air’s ability to provide fun, social and memorable experiences to kids across America is unwavering.”

The 25 new deals are made up of a mix of new and existing franchisees, with 13 of them signing on to open additional locations, resulting in six new multi-unit deals. The brand continues to work with multi-brand and multi-unit franchisees who wish to expand and diversify their portfolios.

Gene and Emily Stanford, third-generation McDonald’s franchisees, have signed on to bring Urban Air parks to Huntsville, Alabama; Panama City, Florida and Naples, Florida. The pair plan to open more than the three locations they’ve signed on for.

“As we looked towards what was best for our young family, we wanted to put ourselves in a position that helps us serve consumers more directly in a fun and engaging manner, as well as involve our children so they can have experiences that allow them to play, engage and connect with their friends outside of the virtual world,” said Gene Stanford.

“We picked Urban Air because we want to direct and diversify our business journey towards a family-friendly company where we can be part of the growth. This brand stands for what we passionately believe in – bringing kids and families together through play,” said Emily Stanford.

Urban Air Adventure Parks currently has 150 parks open, with another 85 in development.
