Choppaluna opens location in Central Berlin

The brand has opened its first Berlin-based location in Kreuzberg/Mitte

The brand has opened its first Berlin-based location in Kreuzberg/Mitte.

Choppaluna, the fast, fresh and dine-in restaurant brand has opened the doors of its central Berlin location. The Hero Brands’ company plans to provide customers with a healthy menu; with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options to prove that healthy food and salads don’t have to be boring. Customers can watch their dish being made and can choose from over 60 toppings.

Nikras co-founded the brand with his partner, Bijan Azadfard.

“We are excited to be launching our first restaurant in my home city of Berlin as we bring Berliners a super-delicious, healthy dining experience that offers guilt-free indulgence,” said co-founder and CEO Nikras Agha.

The brand will focus on low-carb meals such as scrambled egg bowls as well as a variety of rolls, smoothies and locally, specially roasted coffee alongside its signature salads. Choppaluna will be serving ‘Big Rolls’ (larger wraps) so customers have lunch and dinner options.

The new location has opened in Kreuzberg and is in walking distance of Checkpoint Charlie. The brand expects further growth and franchise recruits in the next 12 months.

“It’s very exciting to be launching our first restaurant in my home city of Berlin, it’s where our inspiration and idea for Choppaluna was born,” said Agha.

“Choppaluna will truly revolutionize the healthy eating space in the city, bringing Berliners indulgent healthy options that fit with a fast-paced on-the-go lifestyle.

“It is particularly pleasing to open our restaurant in Berlin so quickly after the launch of our first restaurant in London’s Bloomsbury in October last year, it’s a huge achievement for our team.

“The opportunity is truly resonating with our franchise network within the Hero Brands group and we will work with them to explore opportunities for growth throughout the U.K.”

The Hero Brands portfolio includes the likes of German Doner Kebab, which has begun to grow into a number of regions around the world and has signed deals with 700 franchisees.

“Hero Brands is responding to emerging consumer trends and focused on growing the brands of the future,” said Athif Sarwar, CEO of Hero Brands.

“Eating-out is changing and younger consumers are demanding a shorter dwell time, great-tasting healthier food and an aspirational experience that is shareable on their social channels.

“Choppaluna responds to this trend and we worked very closely with Nikras and Bijan to develop the brand and a proposition that truly disrupts the healthy eating space.

“Opening a restaurant in their home city of Berlin is a huge moment for them both and we will now give them unrivalled industry expertise forge ahead with their growth ambitions.”

Choppaluna is going from strength to strength and opened its flagship London location last year in Bloomsbury.
