Saladworks looks to push ahead and open several locations in Ohio

The fast-casual create-your-own-salad concept wants to expand its footprint in Ohio and Kentucky

The fast-casual create-your-own-salad concept wants to expand its footprint in Ohio and Kentucky.

The salad franchise has already opened in four Kroger stores in Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati and plans are being made to open even more locations. The company has made a strategic push to meet the demand for healthy and customizable meals; SaladWorks has targeted the millennial and Gen Z demographic and accommodated for their spending power and lifestyle needs.

The new Ohio locations will be added onto existing SaladWorks locations as well as adding further locations onto Kroger stores in the state. The lack of expensive kitchen machinery will help support growth since all products are freshly made and require no highly skilled staff.

“We are excited to grow our Saladworks brand in Ohio in these high-traffic stores and believe it will lay the foundation for future franchise growth of Saladworks throughout the state,” said Eric Lavinder, chief development officer for WOWorks, parent company of Saladworks.

“We are looking to recruit potential franchisees who want to join our health-focus family of brands with exciting development opportunities in an untapped state.”

The move to open inside grocery stores was made in 2019, and typically contain the same offering as their standalone locations. SaladWorks currently has 10 locations inside grocery stores in Maryland, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

SaladWorks was founded in 1986 and now has over 130 locations across 18 states and two countries.
