BabyBallers set to scale up in Belgium

The kids’ soccer franchise is expanding throughout Europe

The kids’ soccer franchise is expanding throughout Europe.

BabyBallers, the kids’ soccer franchise launched in the U.K. in 2016, has announced a 40-unit deal signed with master franchisee Luc Deraedt to bring the brand to cities throughout Belgium.

Last year, BabyBallers signed a 10-year agreement with Deraedt, with the original aim to bring a minimum of 20 new clubs to Belgium every year. However, just this year, the master franchisee is already set to double that figure.

“Being part of the BabyBallers franchise was both an exciting opportunity and a real honour for me. Starting out, my ambition was to open 200 clubs in Belgium over the next 10 years. However, after onboarding 40 clubs this year alone, I think I might have to up that target,” said Luc.

“BabyBallers’ founder Rich Elms and business development manager Chris Elms showed a very professional attitude during our discussions. They know which direction they want to take BabyBallers in, but at the same time, they were open-minded about local differences. Our cooperation is framed in a long-term vision, as is customary with franchise agreements. I believe in the strategy that has been set out and, like our customers, we hope to have a lot of fun with BabyBallers in the years to come.”

Back in May, BabyBallers announced its plans to begin Australasian growth this year, too, in partnership with Australia-based consultancy DC Strategy.

“If you get your model right, franchising has the power to grow a brand at an incredible rate, not just in Europe but all over the world,” said Chris Elms. “Since our launch, BabyBallers has come so far and to be launching 40 clubs in Belgium this year is a real testament to the great partnership we have with our master franchisee Luc. Moving forward, we want BabyBallers operating in every country where we see teams competing in the Euros!”
