Another restaurant brand files trademarks for the metaverse

Tony Roma’s plans to operate restaurant in the metaverse in the future

Tony Roma’s has announced its intentions to trademark its brand in the metaverse. More specifically, the brand will file a trademark to operate its restaurant virtually in the metaverse. The virtual restaurant will have an immersive BBQ experience where fans of the brand can learn about its wings and interact with its executive chef, Bob Gallagher.

“By tapping into the metaverse, we’re allowing Tony Roma’s fans to experience our premier dining experience in a new virtual way,” said Ramon Bourgeois, CEO of Tony Roma’s.

“We’re thrilled to integrate with the metaverse to connect virtual reality with real-life experiences in order to bring our signature ribs and fan-favorite menu items directly into customer homes.”

The brand is looking forward to its fiftieth anniversary and wants to build out its virtual offering and NFT’s for transactions in its virtual restaurants. This applies to the Bones & Burgers concept as well as Tony Roma’s physical and virtual locations.

Tony Roma’s is among the handful of brands that have already either filed trademark applications for the metaverse, or have officially begun building out its offering. TRIB3 is launching its virtual gym concept, and brands like Panera and McDonald’s have already filed for trademarks to operate their own virtual restaurants in space.
