Hyatt Hotels Corporation, the franchisor of more than 950 locations worldwide, has unveiled its latest hotel in Cambodia. The Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh is the second Hyatt-branded location to open in Cambodia, and is the first to open in the country’s capital city.

At 247 rooms, this new site is also the largest hotel from a global brand to open in the city, and is located in the heart of the cultural and business district of Doun Penh, which is a 30-minute drive from the airport.

“We are excited to open our doors and introduce the Hyatt Regency brand to Cambodia, supporting the country’s hospitality industry as well as reinforcing Hyatt’s steady and thoughtful growth in Southeast Asia,” said Herman Kemp, general manager, Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh.

“We look forward to welcoming business and leisure guests to an energizing new space where they can recharge, discover locally-inspired culinary experiences and stay connected during a stress-free travel experience, all delivered with the warm comfort of Cambodian hospitality.”

The hotel’s interior reflects Cambodia’s unique history, blending Khmer architectural accents with French colonial influences. There are also a handful of specially commissioned artworks by contemporary Cambodian artist, FONKi.

Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh is home to four dining venues, including Market Café Restaurant & Lounge, an all-day dining venue inside a light-filled atrium serving breakfast, afternoon tea, and à-la-carte options, Metropole Underground, an early 20th century metro-themed bar offering live music and local beers, and an old-world speakeasy-style bar tucked away in the Colonial House called The Attic, which specializes in handcrafted cocktails and grand cru wines.

For business travellers, the hotel is also equipped with 15,069 square feet of meeting and events space. Nine meeting suites provide flexible arrangements for boardroom meetings, and The Poolhouse, an outdoor gathering space, includes an outdoor barbecue area and open terrace, accommodating up to 70 guests.
