Ever since Tutor Doctor burst onto the scene in 2004, it has firmly cemented itself as one of the world’s leading tutoring franchises. As parents and guardians across the globe recognized the need for personalized, one-to-one tuition for their children, Tutor Doctor began its mission to become a household name.

With a basic understanding that one-size-doesn’t-fit-all in regards to a child’s learning, it soon became clear that the demand was growing substantially. Fast forward over 15 years and Tutor Doctor now operates in over 700 different territories, across 14 countries.

ADAPTING TO ADVERSITY

In all that time, no other year has tested the education sector like 2020. However, equipped with the skills to help make the situation a little less stressful, Tutor Doctor franchisees rose to the challenge to provide a comforting shoulder for parents and children across the world.

As the initial shock of the pandemic started to diminish, the franchisees and the home office team got their heads together and developed ways to support not just their clients but any family who needed help.

In no time at all, an Innovation Squad was formed: a group of on-the-ground innovators who were reacting and responding accordingly to vital announcements. With this team in place, Tutor Doctor aims to help with forging the path to recovery.

“The whole education sector changed overnight,” said Frank Milner, president of Tutor Doctor. “With the support of the Innovation Squad, we established our mantra of ‘speed to change’, which quickly emanated throughout the entire global network. Every single person was singing from the same song sheet as we understood what needed to be done.”

“No matter what situation we find ourselves in, parents and guardians are always going to be looking for ways to improve their child’s learning”

CONSISTENT FRANCHISEE GROWTH

Whilst programs were being implemented, it wasn’t long before savvy individuals recognized the true potential to be had in the education industry. In 2020, the franchisor welcomed 62 franchisees worldwide, all of whom spotted the chance to make a real difference to local families alongside building a successful business.

Last year, the network delivered many hundreds of thousands of tutoring hours, with 40 per cent of those online. And in the first quarter of 2021, Tutor Doctor announced the acquisition of an up-and-coming franchise brand, Code Wiz – an exciting new venture that will propel the growth of both brands!

Rebuilding the world of education is going to require a lot of time, passion, and determination. In a collective effort with others, Tutor Doctor is determined to be part of the support team for returning to normal. It believes that the way to move forward is by creating equal opportunities for the children of the future, creating a chance for each one to thrive.

Milner added, “no matter what situation we find ourselves in, parents and guardians are always going to be looking for ways to improve their child’s learning. There’s an opportunity to be had all the time – this year, next year, and the subsequent years after that. We truly believe that we can be part of that catalyst for change…would you care to join us?”
