The latest multi-unit agreement for the sandwich concept will see its expansion throughout the Carolinas.

It seems like every other week, Potbelly Sandwich Shop is signing a new multi-unit franchise agreement to take its tasty sandwiches to a new audience in the U.S. This acceleration in growth began back in August, when the brand announced it would prioritize franchising as a means of growth, and continued in the coming months when an agreement was signed in Las Vegas.

Now, through yet another multi-unit deal, Potbelly has signed a deal to develop 13 new locations across North and South Carolina – signalling the first time the food and beverage brand has entered the latter market. The first of these new units, set to open soon, will be in Wilmington.

The deal was made with Brent and Michele Brouse, who Alan Johnson, CEO of Potbelly, speaks very highly of: “Brent and Michele are perfect examples of the type of highly qualified entrepreneurs with restaurant industry experience that Potbelly is attracting. Both are extremely passionate about developing the brand.”

The Brouses live in Wilmington, and both have extensive experience in the restaurant industry and brand development.

“We’ve been die-hard supporters of the brand for many years. This is an opportunity that we’re well prepared for and we know the markets that we’re expanding into are clamoring for Potbelly,” said Brent. “Ever since living in Chicago and working in the restaurant sector, we have been eyeing the Potbelly franchise opportunity. With the brand’s increased focus on multi-unit franchise expansion, now was the right time to become franchisees.”
