About The TaxAssist Group
The TaxAssist Direct Group is a diversified professional services organisation comprising a nationwide franchise network, a portfolio of group‑owned practices and a range of complementary businesses that strengthen and support the wider TaxAssist ecosystem.
Founded in Norwich in 1995, the Group is the franchisor for the “TaxAssist Accountants” brand in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, with an expanding international presence in Canada and Australia.
The TaxAssist Support Centre, based in Norwich, provides centralised expertise across training, marketing, technology and operations, supporting more than 400 shop and office locations. The Group employs over 120 members of staff across the UK.
Globally, the network consists of more than 270 franchised areas, servicing over 135,000 clients. The UK network has sales of over £67.2m per year and growing. TaxAssist Accountants has built a successful business model that is easily replicated across multiple markets.
International opportunities
Since 2009, TaxAssist Accountants has been growing the brand internationally and has exciting international franchise opportunities, which are primarily available in:

Canada

Ireland
In 2009, TaxAssist Accountants awarded its first Master Franchise Rights to an established firm of accountants in the Republic of Ireland, which was led by Roddy Comyn.
Prior to joining TaxAssist Accountants, Roddy was a partner in a local practice in the Fairview region of Dublin. While the practice was successful in its own right, he was ambitious and wanted to develop a national brand across Ireland.
In 2017, Roddy retired, and the Master Franchise was acquired by the TaxAssist Group. TaxAssist Accountants Ireland is now operated by Managing Director Alison McGinley, backed up by the Irish Support Centre Team and the Support Centre team in the UK.

Australia
TaxAssist Accountants launched in Australia in 2015 with a Master Franchise operation. For personal reasons, the original Master Franchisees relinquished the Master Franchise rights in 2020 and a new company was created: TaxAssist Direct Australia Pty Ltd. Experienced businesswoman Mandy Sigaloff was appointed as managing director for Australia with a shareholding in the company, with The TaxAssist Group as the majority shareholder.
