Pizza Hut continues to make inroads into Africa and becomes the first large global food franchise to open an outlet in Ethiopia. A second outlet has opened hot on its heels.
Franchisee, Belayab Foods CEO and shareholder, Michael Ghebru said, “We’re very excited for this milestone event. While there are a few regional franchise restaurants in Ethiopia, Pizza Hut is the first global international restaurant franchise to enter the Ethiopian market.”
Parent company Yum! Brands, which also own Taco Belle and KFC, sees the continent as an important area in which to grow.
