Bodystreet is taking in-studio and at-home workouts into the future.
Bodystreet specializes in training efficiency and uses electro muscular stimulation – EMS for short. This technique stems from sport and space science medicine and is characterized by an extraordinarily high training efficiency.
The first Bodystreet pilot operation was opened in Munich in 2007, with two further centers welcoming guests in Munich and Regensburg shortly after. Following very high interest in Bodystreet’s unique fitness model, the brand launched its franchising program in 2009 and has since opened over 320 studios on three continents.
“Bodystreet’s mission can be summed up by the term ‘joie for life’. Maximum joie de vivre for members through training successes despite minimum time expenditure,” says Emma Lehner, co-founder. “More joie de vivre for employees through a rewarding and well-developed training and career. More joy of life for franchise partners through entrepreneurial success and a good work-life balance.”

In less than 15 years, Bodysteet has propelled EMS to one of the fitness industry’s most significant trends. Three employees have become over 1,000, who have carried out a total of over 15.4 million EMS training sessions using the proprietary Bodystreet method.
In more recent times, the fitness industry has been rocked by the impact of a global pandemic; forcing many operators to completely shutter their studios and wait out the downtime.
For Bodystreet, however, the past 12 months have been a time to reflect, improve, and come out the other side stronger than ever. The brand’s digital power package, consisting of a new website and Bodystreet app, allows guests to engage with Bodystreet from the comfort of their own homes. Its high-tech studios have also undergone a digital transformation, creating an all-round customer experience both in the studio, and the living room.
Across its expansive franchise network on three continents, Bodystreet carries out more than 180,000 workout sessions each and every month. But the EMS fitness franchisor is always looking for new partners to join in both its domestic German market, as well as regions in which it doesn’t currently have a footprint.
New partnerships are welcome through a combination of single or multi-unit development deals, or even master franchising opportunities in untapped markets. “We want to be the most attractive employer and best educator in the fitness industry,” says Titus Gindo, CEO of Bodystreet East Africa. “As a result, we expect inspired employees and committed franchise partners, above average enthusiastic members, and a studio performance that is unique in the industry.”
