fit20 USA signs up first U.S. regional developer

The science-backed fitness franchise takes steps to snap up markets in the States

The science-backed fitness franchise takes steps to snap up markets in the States.

fit20 USA, a master franchisee of fit20, has announced its very first regional developer in the States. Cathy Battreall, an experienced multi-unit franchisee, lives in Jacksonville, Florida, and will open new fit20 locations in partnership with her sister, Kim Sheppard, and her father, John “Rusty” Coleman.

“This concept is perfect for the market today, appealing to adults that need an efficient workout plan,” said Battreall. “I’m delighted to bring this new concept to northern Florida. I know it will change the lives of many people.”

Unlike other fitness concepts, fit20 is designed primarily for busy individuals who don’t have the time to fit in several intense workouts every week. Instead, only one 20-minute session is arranged with a personal trainer per week, in a climate-controlled environment that doesn’t require the client to change into workout gear. This innovative approach has allowed the brand to grow to 152 studios worldwide, serving more than 17,000 members.

“Until I tried it myself and saw the results, I didn’t believe 20 minutes a week would work,” said Battreall, “but it’s truly amazing how your body responds so quickly to this approach to strength training.”

fit20 was founded in the Netherlands, and currently operates studios in Belgium, the U.S.A., the U.K., Qatar, New Zealand, Germany, the Caribbean, France, and Sweden. The brand’s regional developer program is “at the core” of the brand’s expansion strategy in the U.S., according to Dr. Ben Litalien, chief development officer. “By working with strategic partners in key markets who operate studios and support independent franchisees, we can meet the demand for strength training quickly and effectively,” he said.
