Goldfish Swim Schools continues East Coast expansion in Connecticut

The children’s swimming franchisor has laid roots in Manchester, Connecticut.

The children’s swimming franchisor has laid roots in Manchester, Connecticut.

Located at 1147 Tolland Turnpike, the learn-to-swim concept, Goldfish Swim Schools, has opened its newest location in Manchester, Connecticut as a part of an aggressive strategy of growth that incorporates multi and single-unit owners.

The new Manchester location will be owned by Tracey McCaghy and Steve Marszalek, who owns locations in Norwalk and Stamford, as well as three further locations in Massachusetts.

“It’s a great feeling to know the work you do is truly impacting the community,” said McCaghy.

“With Goldfish, we’ve found an organization with a strong culture, solid systems and a strong business model with a talented support team.

“We’re grateful to have the opportunity to grow our Goldfish portfolio and spread the important message of water safety to help more children across the Manchester community be safer in and around the water.”

The swim school will feature a 25 x 68 ft. pool kept at 90 degrees, with a viewing room nearby for families.

“We’re thrilled Tracey and Steve continue to grow the Goldfish Swim School family,” shared Chris McCuiston, who co-founded the franchise with his wife Jenny McCuiston.

“As we continue to expand our footprint, it’s more important than ever that we partner with community leaders who are just as passionate about water safety as we are.

“Jenny and I are confident that this team will help us continue to bring awareness to the drowning epidemic and ultimately get us one step closer to reducing the number of accidental drownings.”

Goldfish Swim Schools was founded by husband-and-wife Chris and Jenny McCuiston in 2006. It opened its first franchise location in 2009 and has since grown to 120 schools in North America, with another 130 in development.
