Wayback Burgers signs master franchise agreement in Dominican Republic

The hometown burger franchise is making its way to the Caribbean

Wayback Burgers has announced the signing of a master franchise agreement to bring the burger brand to the Dominican Republic. It has signed with Farhiell Exil, who will act as the brand’s master franchisee in the Dominican Republic.

According to the agreement, Exil will open eight restaurants across the country over the next eight years, with the first planned for the capital city in early 2023, Santa Domingo. Exil is working closely with Brian Corsetti, vice president of international and commercial real estate brokers to find the perfect locations for his restaurants.

Exil is a native of Haiti and a Harvard graduate, he has experience in the restaurant sector and international business. Growing up, his mother ran a catering business and he is hoping he can make use of her insights to achieve success with Wayback Burgers’ entry into a new market.

“We are excited to continue growing our business portfolio with the expansion of Wayback Burgers’ footprint to the Caribbean,” said Exil.

“We understand the challenges of local job insecurity and believe our eight Wayback Burgers restaurants will offer great employment opportunities across the Dominican Republic. We plan to bring approximately 240 jobs to the area, for which we are actively recruiting and reviewing applications.”

The burger franchise provides all of its master franchisees with a comprehensive business model to help grow the brand around the world.

“We are pleased to officially announce our latest master franchise agreement with Farhiell Exil for the Dominican Republic,” said William Chemero, chief development officer of Wayback Burgers.

“We are always excited to work with young, talented franchisee partners like Farhiell and view his partnership as a tremendous opportunity to introduce the Wayback Burgers experience to burger lovers in the Caribbean.”
