Pizza Hut U.K. and Europe make key leadership changes

The global pizza franchise has appointed two new managing directors for different regions

Pizza Hut U.K. and Europe has announced changes to its leadership and promoted Yum! Brands veterans to senior leadership roles. Regina Borda has been appointed as the managing director for Latin America and Ibera, effective January 1, 2022. Nicolas Burquier has been appointed as the managing director for Europe and Canada, effective January 2022.

“I’m delighted to welcome Regina Borda and Nicolas Burquier to their new roles in Pizza Hut. Both have phenomenal track records within Yum! and the Pizza Hut brand, and their passion for growth have helped our teams successfully navigate the challenges and opportunities of the pandemic in Europe and North America,” said Vipul Chawla, president of Pizza Hut International.

“Regina’s a heart-led leader who has overseen strong brand positioning with ‘Now That’s Delivering’ and contributions to communities across Europe through the ‘An Equal Slice for Everyone’ corporate responsibility program leave a robust legacy in the European market and stand her in good stead for success in Latin America.

“Nicolas has pioneered new processes and technologies for customer service and delivery across the U.S. – and will bring his innovative mindset to his new role. I can’t wait to see where they take the business next!”

Borda joined Yum! in 2003 as the KFC brand’s marketing manager in Latin America. She successfully occupied a number of roles at Yum! And eventually took on the role of chief brand officer for Pizza Hut Latin America in 2017, and occupied the role for a year. Since then, Borda has been the managing director of Pizza Hut Europe and Canada from 2018 and oversaw Pizza Hut’s new ‘Now That’s Delivering’ branding. She was also responsible for launching the ‘An Equal Slice for Everyone’ program that looked to support entrepreneurs from underrepresented backgrounds.

“Growing Pizza Hut’s European and Canadian business with our fantastic teams here has been an honor, especially supporting our communities through the pandemic. I appreciate the chance to take lessons from our success in Europe and Canada to ambitious growth plans in Latin America,” said Borda.

“I look forward to leaving our latest efforts, including the popular ‘Now That’s Delivering’ brand campaign and our social responsibility program’ An Equal Slice for Everyone’, in the capable hands of Nicolas and wish the European and Canadian teams all the best for a bright future.”

Burquier joined Yum! in 2005 and occupied several roles at the company before being appointed as the president and general manager of KFC Canada in 2013. He is currently the chief customer & operations officer for Pizza Hut U.S. where he has improved the customer experience in U.S. restaurants through delivery-focused operations and enhanced restaurant technology to accelerate Pizza Hut transformation in the U.S.

“I’m looking forward to leading the Pizza Hut team in Europe and Canada – I loved watching their success under Regina from afar and am excited to take the next step in furthering the market’s growth,” said Burquier.

“Continuing my journey with the Yum! and Pizza Hut brands is a privilege and I welcome the challenge of bringing my passion for customer experience into a new arena.”
