Brooklyn Dumpling Shop signs first multi-unit franchising deal for Connecticut

Before the automat concept has even opened the doors to its inaugural location, Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is attracting multi-unit franchise investment

Before the automat concept has even opened the doors to its inaugural location, Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is attracting multi-unit franchise investment.

In a sign of the non-contact COVID times, Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, an automat fast-casual concept that features zero human interaction, has already signed up its first multi-unit franchisee – before the brand even opens its first site in the East Village this Spring.

The deal will bring five locations to Connecticut, and the first of these will be located in New Haven, where Yale is located. This suits Brooklyn Dumpling Shop’s style, which is perfect for college cities and residents seeking a 24-hour go-to meal.

“I am very excited about Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, the brand’s innovative technology is exciting and the food is delicious,” said the first franchisee, who would like to remain anonymous at this time. “Getting into the brand early is a very wise decision. In the next two or three years, I expect we will see a lot of automat restaurants, so it’s great to jump on board with the innovative concept now.”

Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is founded by Stratis Morfogen, and the business is designed in a way that requires no chefs or even a full kitchen, making it perfect for small spaces in bustling metropolitan hubs.

“We are thrilled to team up with this franchisee, who has a tremendous track record in QSR,” said Morfogen. “We couldn’t have picked a better partner for Connecticut.”

Over the course of the next five years, Brooklyn Dumpling Shop plans to launch 500 units throughout the States. To achieve this goal, the brand has partnered with Fransmart, who are responsible for the growth of similar fast-casual names like Five Guys Burgers & Fries, and The Halal Guys.
