BoConcept dominates U.S. market with multi-unit ownership

The Danish-founded global retail furniture franchise already has a firm global presence, but recent momentum will see BoConcept take an even stronger foothold in the States

The Danish-founded global retail furniture franchise already has a firm global presence, but recent momentum will see BoConcept take an even stronger foothold in the States.

BoConcept customizes and designs sleek furniture to the needs and dreams of its customers. The brand appeals to the cosmopolitan-minded, and currently has more than 300 locations across 65 countries. This number is only set to climb, as many of the brand’s franchisees recently made the move from single-unit to multi-unit ownership – meaning that, now, all of BoConcept’s U.S. franchisees are multi-unit owners.

“BoConcept’s franchise model was launched in 2001 with the idea of providing franchisees with a dynamic and interesting business opportunity, one that would truly give them the chance to connect with their communities,” said BoConcept director of U.S. marketing, Steen Knigge. “The fact that our franchisees are willing to expand and open more locations speaks not just to the strength of the franchise opportunity, but also to the culture we have developed since BoConcept was first founded in 1952. We are focused on bringing our bold, stylish furniture to all corners of the U.S., and by partnering with franchisees who want to live out the BoConcept mission, we will continue to expand into untapped markets.”

Some of the franchisees who have opened multiple locations with BoConcept include:
BoConcept is dedicated to building successful stores through entrepreneurial franchisees. The functional furniture brand is actively targeting sophisticated retail communities in major cities, including Austin, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, and Scottsdale.

  • Tim Machenaud – Washington, D.C.
  • Stephane and Stehapnie Duval – Southern California
  • Søren & Caroline Krogh-Jensen – Northern California
  • Peter Chong – New Jersey

“We see true potential to continue to develop with our dedicated franchise partners across the U.S.,” Knigge said. “They have embraced our systems and processes. As a global leader in furniture design, we have truly loved bringing our fresh approach and contemporary and modern styles to homes across the U.S.”

BoConcept was the 2019 winner for the Global Franchise Award for Best Lifestyle Franchise. To find out more about the Global Franchise Awards 2020, and to enter your franchise for the chance to win, click here.
