The fastest-growing Thai restaurant brand in the U.K. and Ireland

The fastest-growing Thai restaurant brand in the U.K. and Ireland.

Content Partnership*

Camile Thai Kitchen is an international chain of healthy Thai restaurants and home delivery outlets, serving delicious, healthy Thai food that is sustainably produced. With over 35 locations and counting, Camile is rapidly growing its sustainable and healthy business online and offline. It now aims to continue to leverage that experience and knowledge outside of its core markets in the U.K. and Ireland.

THRIVING THROUGH A PANDEMIC

Unlike most hospitality businesses, Camile has thrived through the pandemic, as its suburban-based home delivery model has proven resilient to the exceptionally difficult trading circumstances for the industry.

Camile embraces many of the trends impacting today’s conscious consumers. A decent vegan section on the menu caters to those wanting to have more plant-based choices. The brand was the first home delivery chain in Europe to go 100 per cent compostable with its packaging, the first to print calories on menus, the first to deliver by drones and to carry out free healthy cookery demonstrations for guests – and even the first to home deliver a doggy treat for the third of Camile customers who are dog lovers. And as well as meat lovers, Camile can also cater for gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian diets.

PERFECT FOR DELIVERY

Camile has created an innovative food product that is perfectly tailored to holding its heat and quality during delivery, developed over 10 years of research in the food delivery space. Each touchpoint of the customer’s journey is closely considered to create a world-class guest experience that leads the casual restaurant industry – including an award-winning app, which captures up to 50 per cent of a branch’s business.

As a modern brand, Camile realizes the environment we live in has finite resources and we must collectively take better care of it. Sustainability is key to Camile in 2021, and a number of initiatives support this reality.

Since opening its first location in 2010, the business has expanded to 35 locations through a combination of company-owned and franchised restaurants. Many of the franchisees have become multi-unit owners, with franchisee Pramod Thankapan currently on seven sites, with two more under construction.

With a variety of formats on offer from a core neighborhood home delivery restaurant, to cloud kitchens, Camile has an offer to suit every market.

Camile franchise owner Rakesh Galaprishnan was working as a manager in the Camile Tooting Bec location when he saw first-hand the potential of running his own Camile Thai business.

“2020 has been an extremely busy year” says Rakesh, “with the support and guidance of the Camile Thai team, I feel well-equipped to continue my journey as a business owner”. In late 2018, he took the keys to his first restaurant and has since racked up high double-digit like-for-like sales, strong gross profits, and a dedicated restaurant team to deliver an amazing guest experience.

JOIN A FLOURISHING MARKET

On a broader scale, the food delivery market has exploded in the last five years, experiencing a 50 per cent growth over that time period. The pandemic has just accelerated that.

With food delivery set to exceed $164bn in the next four years, Camile is well-positioned to take advantage of this trend. The brand has built a custom online ordering system and native application from scratch to ensure ease of at-home ordering and better data mining of guests.

The branches run their own driver fleet, while also maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with industry-leading aggregators. This two-tiered approach to delivery gives them a significant advantage over their competitors.

At Camile Thai, prospective franchisees will find the opportunity to join a unique thriving food delivery brand with solid support in a booming market, and incredible opportunities for growth.
