Papa John’s is the first national pizza delivery chain to announce the removal of all artificial flavors and synthetic colors from the entire food menu. This includes flavor enhancer MSG, preservatives like BHA and BHT; cellulose and partially hydrogenated oils; artificial flavors and synthetic colors and high fructose corn syrup.

In 2018, consumers rated Papa John’s No. 1 in product and service quality in the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI). For 17 of the past 19 years, consumers have rated Papa John’s No. 1 in customer satisfaction among all national pizza chains in the ACSI.

Global expansion

On the global development front, Papa John’s International, Inc. continues to grow. Below are some key highlights of our European and global growth efforts:

•United Kingdom. Papa John’s has just over 400 restaurants operating in the United Kingdom.

•Spain. In just under two years the brand has exploded to over 70 locations across Spain including restaurants in both Madrid and Barcelona. This effort is led by Drake QSR who also owns over 80 successful Papa John’s restaurants in Chile.

•Russia. Russia is our largest international market with just under 180 locations operating throughout Moscow and St. Petersburg, 45 of which were opened throughout 2018. The franchisee in Russia, PJ Western Retail, is also the master franchisee in Poland, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

During the past year, Papa John’s has announced new stores and new development deals in the Bahamas, Canada, China, Pakistan and Portugal. Papa John’s has approximately 1,000 new stores in the global development pipeline that are expected to open during the next few years.

With that in mind, Papa John’s International is targeting expansion across the globe, and is actively looking for franchisees in the following countries: Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Nigeria, South Africa, Thailand and Vietnam.
