Pizza Hut foray into the clothing market with a new streetwear line

Pizza Hut has released its own line of nostalgia-inspired street clothing as part of a larger marketing campaign

Pizza Hut has released its own line of nostalgia-inspired street clothing as part of a larger marketing campaign.

The fast-food franchise drew on the nostalgia and history of the restaurant chain and created a line of wearable merchandise called ‘Tastewear’. It was planned to be the first of many lines of merchandise to be released on its new website.

Pizza Hut is trying to capitalize on the trend of limited-release clothing that has been so successful for streetwear brands such as Supreme to create its own buzz and attract the younger, millennial customer.

“We’re so excited to give our biggest fans a chance to show off their pizza love through fun, trending streetwear-inspired pieces that are still classically Pizza Hut,” said Lindsay Morgan, chief marketing officer for Pizza Hut.

“From the bejeweled pepperoni chain to the classic red cups, our team thoughtfully crafted the details to give fans nationwide a fresh way to show off their Pizza Hut love.”

Pizza Hut released five items: a tracksuit, slides, a chain, a t-shirt, and cups based on the classic Pizza Hut colors, and claim to be inspired by Tiffany’s red lamp and the famous red cups. A larger marketing campaign titled ‘Newstalgia’ is to be released with TV spots to remind customers of what they love about the brand in a modern setting.
