Domino’s Pizza hits new milestone with first Czech Republic store

The pizza titan adds to its vast portfolio with an inaugural franchise in this new market

The pizza titan adds to its vast portfolio with an inaugural franchise in this new market.

Based on global retail sales, Domino’s Pizza is the largest pizza company in the world. It has over 16,500 stores in more than 85 markets, and in 2018, the brand brought in global retail sales in excess of $13.5bn. The only way is up, as Domino’s has now opened its first location in the Czech republic.

The store recently opened in the Vinohrady area of Brno, which is the second-largest city in the country. The location was developed in partnership with local master franchisee, Daufood Czech Republic S.R.O., and further locations are planned for Brno next year.

“I am so proud of the team that helped bring the global Domino’s brand to the Czech Republic,” said Jose Marti, CEO of Daufood. “We look forward to sharing our delicious products, excellent customer service, and prompt delivery with the citizens of Brno.”

This enthusiasm was shared by Domino’s Pizza itself, as Joe Jordan, executive VP of international, added: “Establishing ourselves in the Czech Republic provides an excellent opportunity for our brand to continue its global momentum. With a terrific, proven master franchisee like Daufood, we are confident that Domino’s will be able to establish itself as the pizza delivery brand of choice in Brno.”

Delivery is a huge aspect of the Domino’s brand, and in 2018, digital channels accounted for 65 per cent of Domino’s’ sales in the U.S.
