Brad Sugars to host upcoming bfa Franchisor Power Hour

Brad Sugars, the founder, chairman, and CEO of business coaching franchise ActionCOACH, will host next week’s Franchisor Power Hour provided by the British Franchise Association (bfa). During his session, Sugars will discuss the 11 steps that all business owners need to take now to navigate the COVID-19 crisis.

“It isn’t every day that you can secure an international keynote speaker to present, and I’m delighted we are able to open the opportunity to hear from Brad, to the entire franchising sector,” said Pip Wilkins, CEO of the bfa.

Restoration 1 and bluefrog Plumbing + Drain acquired by MPK Equity Partners and Princeton Equity Group

Restoration 1 and its sister brand, bluefrog Plumbing + Drain, recently announced a strategic investment by MPK Equity Partners and Princeton Equity Group; both of which have experience investing in the franchise space, having collectively backed international brands such as Urban Air Adventure Parks, Sola Salon Studios, and Massage Envy.

The investment will strengthen both brands’ franchisee networks, and will also allow the group to build or acquire complementary home service brands.

“This extraordinary partnership is a testament to the strength of our brands, the industries where we operate, and our confident abilities to take things to the next level in the service trades,” said Gary Findley, CEO of Restoration 1 and bluefrog. “We’ve established an incredible track record for our franchise networks, and MPK and Princeton are outstanding investors to support our aggressive plans for continued growth.”

7-Eleven partners with third-party delivery providers

In addition to its proprietary 7NOW delivery app, 7-Eleven has partnered with platforms Postmates and DoorDash in the U.S., as well as Google, to make sure the delivery of groceries is as quick and convenient as possible for customers staying at home during the COVID-19 lockdown.

“7-Eleven customers crave convenience and that’s what we’re here for, especially now when more customers are looking to get what they need without leaving their house,” Raghu Mahadevan, 7-Eleven VP of digital and head of delivery. “Expanding the marketplace beyond our stores has been a strategic goal, and these extraordinary times have accelerated our efforts to get the products our customers want and need to them as safely as possible.”

KFC franchisees to provide $500,000 worth of groceries to KFC employees nationwide

KFC franchisees have joined forces to create the Grocery Assistance Fund, which will provide $100 grocery gift cards to the thousands of U.S. KFC employees still serving customers throughout the ongoing health crisis.

Following a survey of select KFC restaurant staff, it was revealed that groceries for employees and their families was amongst the top ways that workers wanted the organization to support them.

“Our team members are going above and beyond to keep America fed and spread goodwill throughout our communities, whether that’s by donating thousands of meals to frontline healthcare workers or feeding children missing school meals,” said Justin Stewart, board chair, KFC Foundation. “As a small thank you, and in addition to many individual franchisee efforts, we have come together as franchisee leaders to care for restaurant employees through the Grocery Assistance Fund.”

Little Caesars customers donate over 125,000 pizzas as part of ‘Pie It Forward’ initiative

The ‘Pie It Forward’ campaign being run by Little Caesars allows customers to donate a pizza to healthcare workers and first responders, and the drive is being supported by the brand’s already one million pizzas it will donate in partnership with independent franchisees and Ilitch Charities, a nonprofit organization based in Detroit.

To date, Little Ceasars customers have donated over 125,000 pizzas, and continue to do so through the Little Caesars app and website.

“As a family company, we wanted to thank our healthcare heroes in the best way we know how – by delivering millions of wholesome meals to them around the country,” says president and CEO of Little Caesars, Dave Scrivano. “The fact that so many of our customers have jumped on board to contribute even more shows that the spirit of kindness and generosity is alive and well, even during times of crisis.”
