Focus Brands fills out specialty category leadership team 

The franchisor of many iconic brands has announced four new appointments

Focus Brands, the franchisor of brands such as Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon, has announced the appointment of four senior figures to the specialty category leadership team, with three internal promotions. The new appointments will be effective immediately. The four appointments are: 

  • Kerri Christian, senior vice president of specialty category marketing 
  • Tracey Young, chief brand officer, Cinnabon 
  • Jim Salerno, chief brand officer, Carvel 
  • Jessica Osborne, vice president of marketing, Carvel.

“With strong leadership we are well-positioned to continue to grow our brands and increase customer preference in today’s competitive market.” 

Kerri Christian previously served as the vice president of marketing for Focus Brands Global Channels Licensing Division, where she brought the company’s brands to grocery stores, eCommerce platforms, restaurants and other distribution channels through product partnerships. In her new role, Kerri will focus on digital engagement, strategic initiatives, innovation, and media across Auntie Anne’s, Carvel, Cinnabon and Jamba. Before Christian worked for Focus Brands, she held leadership roles at the likes of The Home Depot and Procter & Gamble. 

With her forward-thinking vision, Tracey Young will oversee marketing operations for the Cinnabon brand. Young is an industry veteran and has worked for brands such as Panera where she was the vice president, strategy, retail operations at Panera Bread where she led multiple cross-functional teams to drive restaurant operations strategies.  Young has led finance and operations functions at the likes of Dine Brands and Bloomin’ Brands. 

Before taking on his current role, Jim Salerno was the vice president and general manager of Carvel. He joined the brand in 1998 and has been an integral part of the franchise system for 24 years. He will be responsible for driving marketing and operations functions in his new role.  

Jessica Osborne has been promoted to the vice president of marketing for Carvel. Osborne has been with Focus Brands for over 12 years and served in marketing roles for McAlister’s Deli and leading strategic initiatives on the specialty category marketing team. She will lead the team responsible for consumer marketing, menu strategy, digital, off-premises and marketing calendar intiatives.
