The barbecue brand’s franchise offering has proven fruitful enough to promote further expansion.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, the world’s largest barbecue concept with over 500 locations in 44 states as well as markets like Pakistan and the Republic of Georgia, is expanding its footprint within the New Orleans market.

This comes as a result of experienced Dickey’s franchisee and multi-unit owner, Robert Dunning, signing up to develop three additional units within the state throughout 2021. These are in addition to the three Dickey’s Barbecue Pit locations that Dunning already owns within the New Orleans area.

“Robert is truly a brand champion and we’re proud to be his partner and watch him build on his success by serving even more folks Legit. Texas. Barbecue.,” said Laura Rea Dickey, CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc.

A U.S. Marine Corp. veteran, Dunning is developing a new food truck franchise location in LaPlace, and two free-standing units in the suburban areas of Destrehan and Chalmette.

He opened his first Dickey’s restaurant in 2014, and now serves on the brand’s Technology Advisory Committee alongside several other seasoned Dickey’s franchisees.
